The Best Things to Do in Jesolo Beach Italy

The Best Things to Do in Jesolo Beach Italy
Strand von Lido di Jesolo

The Jesolo promenade is popular for long walks – preferably with a gelato in hand

Why go?

Lido di Jesolo is all about holidaying made easy. The beach is long, the sun’s always shining, and everything’s been custom-made for your convenience. Rows and rows of comfy sunbeds and rainbow-coloured parasols line the manicured sand – a conveniently flat expanse that meets the promenade (a site of frequent sand sculpture fairs) and the criss-cross of 1950s-era streets.

Kids can spend their days building sand castles, swimming and paddle boarding. In fact, parents will find that Lido di Jesolo is one of the most family-friendly resorts in all of Italy. The 15 km of soft sand slides into warm, shallow waters – diligently watched by lifeguards, so you don’t have to worry about the little ones while you sunbathe under glorious blue skies.

Lido di Jesolo comes alive in summer evenings, with restaurants serving everything from traditional Italian to sushi, and prizeworthy gelaterias tucked around every corner. Shopaholics will find designer shoes, fine leather, and souvenirs on the main avenue, which is open until the wee hours in the summer. The high-spirited nightlife means you can join a raucous pub crawl or scout out your favourite nightclub – then sleep it off in your seaside hotel afterwards, accompanied by the sound of the waves. And if you ever feel the need to break up the endless beachtime, it’s only a short trip over to Venice or Verona.

When to go?

It’s best to visit between June and August, when temperatures are so hot all you’ll want to do is laze around under your umbrella and swim in the sea. For cooler temperatures and fewer tourists, you could also plan a trip in September – just be aware that it can get quite chilly in the evenings.
