Buckingham Palace London

Buckingham Palace in London is the official administrative seat of the Monarch of the United kingdom. It has long been considered the home of Elizabeth who gave birth to Prince Charles and Prince Andrew here, although she spent more time in Windsor and her holiday homes.

Located in the City of Westminster, the palace is often at the centre of state occasions and royal hospitality. It has been a focal point for British people in moments of national joy and National mourning.

Behind the palace there is a large park-garden, which also includes a lake, it is the largest private garden in London. There, Queen Elizabeth II hosted her annual garden parties each summer, and also held large functions to celebrate royal milestones like her Jubilee. It covers 17 ha (42 acres) and includes a helicopter landing area and a tennis court.

Windsor Castle

The Windsor Castle was One of Queen Elizabeth’s favorite residences. A Royal home and fortress for over 900 years, Winsdor Castle, the largest occupied castle in the world, remains a working palace today. The Queen used the Castle both as a private home, where she usually spent the weekend, and as an official royal residence where he performed some formal duties from Investitures to State Visits.

Windsor Castle is open to the public, and visitors can explore the history and significance of Windsor Castle. When Queen Elizabeth was alive she loved to spend the summers in the Windsor residence, and at that time some rooms usually not accessible were opened to the public.

Balmoral Castle

Balmoral Castle is a large estate house in Aberdeenshine, Scotland, and a residence of the British royal family. It is near the village of  Crathie, 9 miles (14 km) west of Ballater and 50 miles (80 km) west of  Aberdeen.

The estate and its original castle were bought from the Farquharson family by Prince Albert in 1852, the husband of Queen Victoria. Soon afterwards the house was found to be too small and the current Balmoral Castle was commissioned. The architect was William Smith of Aberdeen, and his designs were amended by Prince Albert. Balmoral remains the private property of the monarch and is not part of the Crown Estate. The summer residence of Queen Elizabeth II, she died at the castle on 8 September 2022.

Nearby thre is also the Craigowan Lodge, where rulers stay when the castle is open to tourists and where illustrious guests are hosted. This 7 bedrooms villa is only 1.6 km from the Castle and was the favorite place of Prince Charles and Princess Diana.

Hillsborough Castle

Hillsborough Castle was the official residence of the Queen and the royal family when they visit Northern Ireland.

Hillsborough Castle is located in Northern Ireland. It is the official residence of the Secretaru of State for Northern Ireland, and the official residence in Northern Ireland of King Charles III and other members of the British royal family when they visit the region, as well as a guest house for prominent international visitors.

From 1924 until the post’s abolition in 1973, it was the official residence of the governor of Northern Ireland. Since April 2014, it has been managed by Historuc Royal Palaces, and is open to the paying members of the public.

Where Will King Charles III Go To Live Now?

Before becoming King, the official residence of Charles III and the his Queen Consort Camilla was in Clarence House in London (for visits: www.rct.uk) with apartments on the second floor, but the family’s is the Highgrove House in the Gloucestershire county. In Wales, Charles and Camilla have a house on the edge of the Brecon Beacons. But Charles also has Tamarisk House, a house on the Isles of Scilly, this house now can be rent. Now King Charles III will take his place on Buckingham Palace, the official residence of the English Monarch.

The Brother’s Residences

Queen Elizabeth gave Anmer Hall to Prince William and Kate Middleton as a wedding gift in 2011 and it became their country home, in London they are staying in 21 rooms of Kensington Palace. For Harry and Meghan instead chosed Frogmore Cottage, Frogmore Cottage è la casa della tenuta Frogmore, che fa parte di Home Park a Windsor, in Inghilterra. It is open to visits only three days a year.
